About the Wharf
The Brayford Pool in Lincoln is a natural lake fed by the River Witham in the City of Lincoln. It was used as a key port by the Romans who created the Foss Dyke in order to connect to the River Trent and allow commercial transportation between what is now Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
The Brayford Waterfront is a bustling destination within the City that has been driving forward regeneration in the area largely supported by the growth of the University of Lincoln in the past decade.
One thing that most visitors remember the Brayford for is its large population of stunning swans that have made the Brayford Pool their home. The swans are a major attraction for wildlife lovers and majestically swim on the Pool adding to the special ambiance of the area.
TheBrayford.co.uk website was setup in order to provide a guide to tourists and local residents alike in order to keep abreast of what was on offer on the Brayford waterfront.
